The VIFFF is thrilled to team up with Cinéma CityClub Pully for two special evenings in June, with filmmakers we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming in Vevey! The films will remain on the program until the end of the month.
🎬 Tuesday, June 3 at 8:00 PM – Dans la cuisine des Nguyen
Director Stéphane Ly-Cuong will present his first feature film, a sparkling musical comedy that skillfully and humorously navigates generational conflicts, cultural stereotypes, and the search for identity. A dazzling and emotional gem, awarded the 2024 Audience Prize at the VIFFF!
🎬 Thursday, June 5 at 8:00 PM – Mikado
Director Baya Kasmi will accompany her new film, featuring a remarkable trio of actors: Félix Moati, Ramzy Bedia, and Vimala Pons. The film explores the desire to create a family and the encounters that can change a life.
Baya Kasmi previously came to VIFFF in 2022 to present Youssef Salem Has Success: we’re delighted to welcome her back.
The Q&A will be hosted by Maryke Oosterhoff, co-director of VIFFF.

Continue reading "VIFFF 2025 : Call for entries"Five days of festivities, over 9,000 attendees, 72 screenings, 21 countries represented, prestigious guests – including Vladimir Cosma and Franck Dubosc – and a flurry of new experiences… The 10th edition of VIFFF surpassed all our expectations!
To mark this anniversary, the festival introduced a range of exciting new features. A free Open Air cinema was set up by the lake on the Place du Marché, offering a magical and unifying setting to enjoy comedies under the stars. The “ÉC’RIRE” screenwriting residency and a roundtable discussion with comedy writers strengthened VIFFF’s ambition to become a true professional hub for comedy development.
The festival also put a strong spotlight on the richness of the region: the “Rivierahaha” programme showcased local talent through a curated selection of short films, while the “Virées du VIFFF” brought the festival experience to surrounding towns and cultural venues. Audiences were also captivated by bold events combining cinema with theatrical improvisation, as well as hands-on creative workshops.
With audience numbers growing by over 50% in just two years – from 6,000 in 2022 to 9,100 in 2024 – VIFFF has firmly established itself as an essential player on the cultural scene. Even more gratifying: this milestone was achieved without ever losing the authenticity and warmth that have defined the spirit of the festival since day one.
The VIFFF extends its heartfelt thanks to its dedicated team, loyal audience, and valued partners for their trust and support!
