Comedy screenwriting residency
VIFFF – the Vevey International Funny Film Festival – continues its comedy screenwriting residency dedicated to French-speaking feature films and launches a new project dedicated to short films!
With its expertise and network in comedy cinema, VIFFF thus confirms its desire to support and promote French-speaking creation in this still too often underrated genre.
Feature films
For the third consecutive year, VIFFF is offering a week-long residency to comedy screenwriters. A unique opportunity to move forward on a feature film project in an inspiring setting, with guidance from a professional screenwriter specializing in comedy.
Who is it for?
For authors currently writing a screenplay for a French-speaking comedy feature film, who already have a first dialogue draft. Two projects will be selected.
Where?
In Vevey (Switzerland), in an apartment overlooking Lake Geneva, in the heart of the old town.
When?
From October 18 to 25, 2026, during the 12th edition of VIFFF.
How to apply?
By sending a complete application file by June 15, 2026.

Short films
After two editions devoted to feature film screenplays, VIFFF is opening a new residency dedicated to short films! Applications are open to both projects already developed and screenplays still at draft stage. A great opportunity to advance a comedy short film project with the support of a professional screenwriter.
Who is it for?
For authors working on a screenplay for a French-speaking comedy short film. Four projects will be selected, including at least two by Swiss nationals or Switzerland-based authors.
Where?
In Vevey (Switzerland). Accommodation is not covered for the short film residency.
When?
From October 18 to 25, 2026, during the 12th edition of VIFFF. The residency will alternate three collective days supervised by the resident screenwriter with independent writing time, with support as needed.
How to apply?
By sending a complete application file by July 31, 2026.
