As part of a collaboration between the Centre d’Enseignement Professionnel de Vevey (CEPV) and the Vevey International Funny Film Festival (VIFFF), second-year students in the Higher Education Photography programme created three short films on the theme of “Work”.

Marc, a self-assured lifeguard, welcomes Louis on his first day of training. Rigid to the point of obsession, he imposes his rules, irritating both the trainee and the swimmers. But just when it seems he has everything under control down to the last detail, an unexpected event puts his protocol to the test.

Claude, the caretaker of an apartment building, spends his days listening through the walls to fragments of other people’s lives: laughter and music that paint a picture of a lively existence from which he feels excluded. Convinced that his neighbour Édouard is at the heart of these celebrations, he comes up with one pretext after another to make contact. When he finally crosses the threshold of Édouard’s apartment, the illusion comes crashing down.
